Action Apparel Firm Names Exec

Lost Holdings in Irvine selected former Rip Curl executive Rick Petri as president, a new position.

The entity was formed last month when surfing and skateboarding company Lost International LLC signed a deal with an investment group led by Chino-based Nick Agakanian. Design, merchandising, marketing and sales operations are based at the brand’s Irvine office, while manufacturing, sourcing and financing is coming from the new partner.

Petri’s appointment strengthens Lost as a global brand, Agakanian said in a statement, adding “Rick has the all-around skills—including merchandising, marketing, and sales—to capitalize on the resources we bring to the table.”

Petri, who starts Dec. 1, most recently served as executive vice president and global chairman for the men’s surfwear division at Rip Curl in Costa Mesa, where he worked since 2006. He also spent six years at O’Neill Clothing in Irvine, where he held a range of positions, including marketing director, brand manager for accessories and footwear, director of men’s merchandising and design, and vice president of men’s merchandise and design.

“We are thrilled to have Rick join the team,” Joel Cooper, chief executive of Lost International, said in a statement. “He is well respected in the industry, has an impeccable track record, and brings the kind of leadership that can help grow our business.”
