5.11 Inc. Signs Lease for New HQ

Outdoor apparel retailer 5.11 Inc. has signed a lease at the Canvas office campus in Costa Mesa, which will be its new headquarters.

The office space, alongside the San Diego (405) Freeway near Bristol Ave., runs 39,650 square feet. It’s bigger that 5.11’s prior HQ in Irvine.

The Costa Mesa offices “will be the center of our global innovation engine where we will come together physically and virtually to continue to innovate for our professional and everyday consumers,” Francisco Morales, 5.11’s CEO, said in a statement.

The local retailer and tactical gear maker filed for an initial public offering in November 2021, and listed a $100 million placeholder amount for the amount of funds it amounts to raise. It has yet to move ahead on those plans.

With 100 employees in Orange County, 5.11 generated net sales of $401 million in 2020, up 3.1% from the prior year, and recorded net income of $10.3 million.
