Ware Malcomb, an Irvine-based international design firm, announced the acquisition of CBRE’s U.S. Design Collective team, effective July 2.
CBRE’s U.S. Design Collective team is comprised of interior design, architecture, MEP, structural engineering and experiential design specialists. The 75 employees are in several U.S. markets, including Atlanta, Chicago and Denver.
“We are excited to add talented design team members who have built strong reputations for workplace design in their respective markets with a diverse array of clients, including several prominent national accounts,” Ware Malcom President Jay Todisco said in a statement. “This infusion of exceptional talent into our interiors practice will enhance our capabilities and expand our reach.”
Ware Malcomb said the addition of the MEP and structural engineering starts a new chapter for the company by expanding the firm’s ability to offer clients more integrated design services.
Ware Malcomb is adding two new principals based in Atlanta: Karen McCallum, who most recently served as Managing Director, Americas Design Lead for CBRE; and Michael Rometo, who most recently served as Managing Director, Buildings & Systems for CBRE.
Additionally, Ware Malcomb, the third-largest architectural firm based in Orange County, will reopen a San Francisco office. Dallas-based CBRE Group is the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm.
