SRB Management Co., a firm affiliated with Angels owner Arte Moreno, has submitted conceptual redevelopment plans for the 153-acre Platinum Triangle site that holds the baseball stadium and surrounding parking lots.
While the initial plans do not specify whether Moreno will renovate or replace the 45,483-seat stadium, it proposes mixed-use additions not unlike the plans for the neighboring Honda Center, revealed today by Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli.
Moreno is proposing 5,175 apartments, two hotels, 2.7 million square feet of office space, 12,500 parking spaces, parks and other commercial additions like retail and restaurants.
SRB Management entered into the deal to buy the site for $325 million last December; a final sale agreement is expected to be reached in September or October.
