Lake Forest-based ARB Inc. helped parent company Primoris Services Corp. reach record revenue and earnings in the third quarter.
Primoris moved its corporate headquarters from Lake Forest to Dallas last year. The shift came amid acquisitions and new contracts around the country that made Texas a central location for the headquarters.
ARB Inc. remains in Lake Forest, where it employs about 400 workers.
Primoris racked up $375.5 million in revenue in the third quarter, up 63% from a year earlier. Third-quarter profits totaled $19.3 million, an increase of nearly three-fold from the same period last year. The results pushed Primoris past the $1 billion mark in revenue for the first nine months of the year.
The company had $941.8 million in revenue and about $72 million in profits last year.
Much of the gain this year stems from the recent acquisitions of Baton Rouge, La.-based James Construction Group and Rockford Corp. in Hillsboro, Ore.
ARB is part of Primoris’ West Coast construction services division, which also made a significant contribution, according to Chief Executive Brian Pratt.
“Our West Coast underground and industrial groups benefitted from increased pipeline integrity and maintenance work and continuing power-related construction projects,” Pratt said.
ARB does work for utilities, oil and gas companies and others. Customers include Chevron Corp., Sempra Energy, Pacific Gas & Electric Co., BP PLC and ConocoPhillips.
