Orange County Music & Dance (OCMD) will no longer be moving its headquarters to the Great Park. Â
The board of directors have voted to relocate the organization, which includes the Pacific Symphony home base, to a newly identified location in Irvine. Â
The nonprofit said it was redirecting efforts and resources to another Irvine site “that better fulfills the organization’s mission and vision for the future.” Â
OCMD cited rising construction material and labor expenses for the change, as well as unforeseen delays and challenges in securing temporary facilities. Â
“The new location will allow OCMD to build a state-of-the-art facility without incurring any debt and allow us to launch expanded programs in the Fall of 2026 rather than having to wait 18-24 months for construction to be completed,” Executive Vice Chair Doug Freeman said in a statement. Â
OCMD will announce the location in the next several weeks. Â
