Janet Randolph has been named vice president of human re-sources at Irvine-based HireRight Inc., an em-ployee screening company that does background checks and drug tests.
Randolph previously worked for Rational Soft-ware, a brand of IBM Corp., where she was director of human resources in the state of New York. She has more than two decades of experience in human resources.
Randolph comes to HireRight at a time of rapid expansion and said that growing companies offer unique challenges that appeal to her.
“Starting from when I was in school, I have always gravitated to involvement and leadership opportunities where I can make things happen,” she said.
Randolph’s history with technology companies also was a key reason she was hired.
“(We liked) her background with technology companies and her ability to match the need of the business,” said John Reese, senior director of marketing at HireRight.
Randolph became familiar with HireRight through her involvement with the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. She sits on the school’s executive education board of advisors.
Randolph has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
She lives in Newport Beach with her husband, who is a partner at Newport Beach-based Avasant LLC.
