Haynie & Co. in Newport Beach promoted Michael Zurovski to equity partner. Zurovski previously was an associate partner and has been with the company for 20 years. He specializes in auditing, litigation support and business valuation.

FINANCE

Louis Abel has joined Irvine-based First Foun- dation Advisors as managing director. Abel is part of a team that will open a bank branch and advisory office for First Foundation in Pasadena. He previously served as senior vice president and senior portfolio manager with Bank of America Corp.’s U.S. Trust.

LAW

Rutan & Tucker LLP hired Ryan Chavez, Robert Dillaway and Joseph Naddour as first-year lawyers in its Costa Mesa office. Chavez joined the firm’s corporate tax and estate planning section and received his law degree from the Chapman University School of Law. Dillaway has joined the firm’s real estate section and received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. Naddour has joined the firm’s employment and labor law section and received his law degree from the University of California, Davis School of Law.

Amy Hoff has joined Jeffer Mangels Butler & Marmaro LLP as senior counsel in its Costa Mesa office. Hoff practices business and real estate litigation and has represented publicly traded companies as well as retailers, lenders, property managers, developers and family businesses.

Newport Beach-based Newmeyer & Dillion LLP has promoted James Hultz and Daniel Schneider to partners. Hultz practices law involving business disputes, including construction, insurance and employment matters. Schneider’s practice focuses on construction and general business litigation.

NONPROFIT

Orange County Head Start in Santa Ana has named Colleen Vers-teeg executive director. Head Start provides early childhood development programs and support services for poor families. Versteeg previously was lead division director of program services where she set and oversaw agency goals, objectives and operating policies.

Alzheimer’s Family Services Center in Huntington Beach added Douglas Schaaf to its board. Schaaf is partner and chair of the tax department for Paul Hastings Janofsky Walker LLP in Costa Mesa. He also is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association and is a frequent speaker on income tax and business planning topics.

REAL ESTATE

Colliers International hired David Atkinson as vice president in its Irvine office. Atkinson previously served as vice president of brokerage services at Daum Commercial Real Estate Services. He will be specializing in tenant and landlord representation with a focus on office properties.

Saywitz Co. promoted Robert Ritschel to vice president in its Newport Beach office. Ritschel has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate industry and began his career at Saywitz. He specializes in lease renegotiations, lease restructuring and corporate relocation for office, industrial and retail clients.

Patrick Kent was hired as senior vice president at Irvine-based Hanley Investment Group Real Estate Advisors. Kent previously served as a director at Irvine-based Faris Lee Investments, where he advised clients on acquiring retail real estate.

Laguna Hills-based California Association of Community Managers added Patty Garcia and Valerie Strauch to its board. Strauch works at the Merit Cos. in Aliso Viejo. Garcia works at Manchester Capital Management LLC in Santa Ana. The group is made up of professional community managers representing nine regions from around the state.

Turner Construction Co. promoted Kevin Dow to vice president and general manager in its Anaheim office. Dow also will serve as the general manager of regional operations for Turner’s southwest region, which includes its office in Arizona. He has been with the company for 30 years.

SERVICES

Greg Mahoney was promoted to president at Rancho Santa Margarita-based US Alliance Group Inc. Mahoney previously served as senior vice president and has been with the company for three years. US Alliance Group is a payment processor.

TECHNOLOGY

Seattle-based Pacific Telecom Services LLC named Annette Hellmich as business development manager in its Costa Mesa office. Hellmich previously worked at Visual Solutions Group Inc. in Newport Beach and sold video conferencing equipment and services to Southern California companies.
