A beachfront villa at The Strand at Headlands in Dana Point is off the market after being listed for more than 18 months.
Agents with Compass sold a 10,576-square-foot house at 21 Strand Beach Drive in Dana Point for $28 million. Multiple listings for the property showed the house sold on April 1 after being on the market for 592 days.
The three-level house sits on 0.26 acres and features five bedrooms, nine bathrooms and an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean and the coastline.
Also featured: formal foyer, elevator, wine cellar, home office, game room, billiards room, gym, heated spa, pool with a waterfall and direct beach access.
Mike Reeves of Corbin Reeves Construction developed the house. Interior and architectural designs were provided by Ohara Davies-Gaetano and Homer Oatman of Oatman Architects.
The seller was represented by Arlen Raubach of Compass, with Jenni Nakhjavani serving as the property’s co-listing agent.
Tim Smith of Coldwell Banker Realty represented the buyer. Amy Calvert of Coldwell Baker Realty was also listed as representing the buyer.
21 Strand Beach Drive was built in 2013 and sold for significantly less than the original listing price.
Homes.com shows it was listed in July 2023 for $42.5 million, with a price drop to $39.5 million in November 2023.
The listing was updated again in May 2024, with the seller offering the Dana Point beachfront estate for $34.9 million. The house sold nearly one year later for $28 million.
The house’s listing described The Strand at Headlands as “one of the most coveted oceanfront communities in California” with access to more than one mile of coastline, 70 acres of parks, scenic trails, a beach club, resorts, shops and restaurants.
There have been a few high-profile sales within Orange County’s luxury home market this year, including the $26 million deal at 2201 Bayside Drive in Corona del Mar and the $37 million sale of 9 Pelicans Drive in Newport Beach.
A 14,000-square-foot house with seven bedrooms and 12 bathrooms on 0.5 acres at 14 Channel Vista in Newport Beach sold on March 12 for $30 million, per Homes.com. Rob Smith of Compass represented the seller and helped sell the four-level house at a 6% discount after being on the market for 477 days. Rex McKown, also of Compass, represented the buyer on the deal.
Also notable was the $15 million sale of a house at 24366 Santa Clara Ave. in Dana Point. The 6,469-square-foot house with four bedrooms and six bathrooms sold on Feb. 20. Andrew Wilson of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyer and seller on this deal.
