American Vanguard to Relocate to Irvine Co.’s Discovery Park

American Vanguard Corp. is relocating its long-time corporate headquarters in Newport Beach to the Irvine Spectrum District, a move company leadership says is part of a broader cost-cutting and efficiency strategy.

The pesticide and agricultural products manufacturer announced last month that it will move its headquarters from MacArthur Court in Newport Beach, where it’s been for 26 years, to the Discovery Park office campus at 530 Technology Drive.

Company officials said the relocation is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2026.

Cost Cutting

The relocation move follows the appointment of Mike DiPaola as chief commercial officer.
DiPaola, who joined the company in February 2025 and previously served as senior vice president of strategy, marketing and research and development, is now tasked with overseeing North American commercial strategy and execution, company officials said.

In the same announcement, Chief Executive Officer Douglas “Dak” Kaye III said the relocation to Irvine is part of a cost-cutting measure that he envisioned when he took over the company in December 2024.

“I noticed that we had a significant real estate footprint and believed this was an area where material cost savings were possible,” DiKaye said in the statement. “We have closed non-core facilities across the company, and now we are moving our headquarters…

“My philosophy from day one has been to Simplify, Prioritize, and Deliver and I believe this relocation represents another important step in this direction,” he added.

American Vanguard currently leases about 20,000 square feet on the 12th floor of the Irvine Company-owned, 15-story office tower at 4695 MacArthur Court, according to CoStar data.

About 50 employees work out of the space, which has served as the company’s corporate headquarters since 1999.

CoStar records show that the company initially occupied roughly 9,000 square feet when it moved in, expanding to about 10,800 square feet two years later and nearly doubling its footprint by 2021.

The lease was amended in 2020 and extended through June 30, 2026, according to CoStar.
Discovery Park

American Vanguard’s next headquarters will be located at Irvine Co.’s Discovery Park, a 123-acre campus built in 2018 that spans 1.95 million square feet of connected office space.

According to Irvine Co., the campus offers a range of configurations, from flex suites to full-building opportunities, and is designed to support collaboration and long-term growth.

Other tenants at Discovery Park include T-Mobile, Western Growers, Shimmick Construction, InnoCaption and PatientFi.

American Vanguard also owns and leases several properties nationwide and worldwide, including two in Commerce—a 72,000-square-foot warehouse and laboratory, and a 152,000-square-foot industrial site that houses its West Coast manufacturing operations, warehouse space and administrative offices.
