WHY: Power couple in PE investments. Nate
Raabe co-founded San Juan Capistrano-based
RX3 Growth Partners, with investments from
professional athletes invests in growth-stage consumer brands. Has raised
more than $200M. Byron Roth, owner of largest investment bank with
HQ in Orange County, and Aaron Rodgers, the famous NFL QB, are also
on board as co-founders and partners. Rebecca Raabe, spent more than 15
years in the medical device industry, including managing Abbott Ventures’
equity investments. Rebecca co-founded and is an investment partner at
SPRIG Equity, a medical technology venture capital firm. Couple has
three children.
IN THE NEWS: RX3 Growth Partners hosted a flag football tournament
in Mission Viejo in March and raised $3.5M for charities. Several NFL quarterbacks played in the tournament, including
Rodgers, Sam Darnold, Carson Palmer and Josh
Allen. SPRIG Equity announced earlier this year
it closed on its first equity fund, with $50M of
assets under management. The firm has already
invested in a medical device company assisting
patients with chronic autoimmune conditions
and a technology firm working on stroke
prevention.
NOTABLE: Nate Raabe was awarded a
Business Journal Excellence in Entrepreneurship
Award in 2024 for his role in co-founding RX3
Growth Partners. One of the firm’s most successful investments was
Orgain Inc., the Irvine-based protein drink maker that was purchased by
Nestle and is valued around $3B. SPRIG Equity earlier this year
announced it partnered with Pi-Cardia, an Israel-based medical device
company, on developing nonimplant-based valve treatments.
