WHY: In 2023, launched Hook Hand Rum, new spirit brand revolving around theme of family and storytelling.
IN THE NEWS: Pitched Hook Hand Rum to about 40 potential investors with the goal of raising $500K. Moved away from taking loans from the bank and gravitated towards crowdfunding.
NOTABLE: Andrew Olson came up with the idea of rum during his time as a bartender at Salt Creek Grille in Dana Point. Bought premium rum, aged it in oak barrels and flavored the drink with pure blood orange extract and Madagascar Vanilla.
