GINO CANORI

PRESIDENT

 _______________

STEVEN OH

EVP, DEVELOPMENT

RELATED CALIFORNIA

WHY: Have overseen a real estate development portfolio of more than 21K residential units and about $117B in assets. Related California is the largest affordable housing developer in the state. Has major market-rate residential and mixed-use projects completed or underway in San Francisco, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County. Related also has proposed building two, high-rise condominium towers in Newport Center and a 50-unit affordable project in the heart of Witte’s hometown, Laguna Beach

IN THE NEWS: Canori expected to be at the company’s helm when Witte retires. Witte and Canori were named the Business Journal Businesspeople of the Year for 2024.

NOTABLE: Oh accomplished what some said was a steep, if not impossible challenge, when he successfully engineered a five-year pursuit to win unanimous approval from the polarized Santa Ana City Council in 2024 to build a $3B, mixed-use redevelopment project on 41 acres in the South Coast Metro area across the street from South Coast Plaza. Oh managed the day-to-day strategy, including more than 200 meetings with neighbors, community leaders and city officials to secure the development entitlements. Billed as the “new gateway” to south Santa Ana, Related Bristol will be the largest private investment in the city’s 154-year history when completed. Groundbreaking likely in 2026.

QUOTABLE: “We’re trying to make a difference. Everyone’s affected.” — Bill Witte

“Bill and I have been partners in what we’ve built in California. We’ve come a long way.” — Gino Canori
