South County Trojans Youth Football, the newest member of club-level Snoop Youth Football League, inked a three-year partnership with performance brand Under Armour Inc.
Under the deal, Under Armour will outfit the Mission Viejo-based organization’s seven divisions with its Armourfuse jerseys, game pants, and practice apparel. It will also provide custom-designed home and away jerseys and game pants.
Families will also have “special partner” access to Under Armour’s products online, according to the organization.
SC Trojans President Dereck Curtis said in a statement the chapter “couldn’t be more proud to represent” the global brand, noting that it also recently announced partnerships with Vicis Helmets, Schutt Sports, Pro Gear, Shock Doctor, and McDavid.
The South County football organization got its start early this year thanks to Mission Viejo High School head football coach and SC Trojan Board Chairman Chad Johnson.
2005 Launch
The goal is to offer youth players an elite, high school-preparatory program allowing them to be trained to run high school and college-level offense, defense and special teams while younger divisions will run simpler, age-appropriate schemes. There are also cheerleading squads.
SC Trojans is part of the nonprofit organization founded by rapper Snoop Dogg in 2005, whose aim was to help inner-city youth participate in football and cheer. The league serves children between 5 and 14, and has more than 20 chapters in California. It’s also served as a pipeline to the National Football League for players such as Denver Broncos running back Ronnie Hillman and Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas.
