Roxy Taps BFFs Bieber, Moniz for New Line

Huntington Beach-based women’s surf and swim line Roxy celebrated the launch of a new collection last week in partnership with model Hailey Bieber and Roxy-sponsored pro surfer Kelia Moniz.

The pair debuted a capsule swimwear collection called Sister, inspired by the two friends’ bond.

The 15-piece contemporary collection includes one-piece swimsuits and bikinis, as well as rompers, tops and pants—in pastel shades of pink and gray, as well as metallic and white.

Items are available on Roxy’s website and select shops worldwide. Prices start at $30 for a pink and white floral print bandana to $100 for a pink sateen trench coat.

Bieber, who recently married singer Justin Bieber and is the daughter of actor Stephen Baldwin, said it’s been a “treat” working with her best friend Moniz.

“We got to shoot the campaign together in Kelia’s home island of Hawaii and the entire experience was fantastic,” she said in a statement.

Moniz—whose husband, Joe Termini, shot the campaign and is a close friend of Justin Bieber—said they met in New York and became fast friends.

There are plans to release a total of four collections over two years.

Plaudits for OC’s Advertising Cos.

It was Oscar season for Orange County’s contingent of ad agencies last month at Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach, where the American Advertising Federation of Orange County held its 36th annual awards ceremony.

Federation president and founding partner and president of Irvine-based Gigasavvy Kyle Johnston kicked off the evening highlighting the chapter’s mission and recognizing its executive board.

“Our mission here—elevate the local OC ad community—is incredibly important,” Johnston said. “We’ve got the chops to compete with a lot of big shops and you’ll see some work today that proves that.”
