Michael de los Reyes has joined the Business Journal to cover finance and several other segments of the community of business here.
De los Reyes arrives from Missouri, where he spent the last 18 months or so as a public information officer for the St. Louis County Department of Health.
De los Reyes contributed on a freelance basis to the St. Louis Business Journal and the Ladue News before going to work for the county. He previously served as the news editor and website manager for a Patch website in the St. Louis metro area and covered business and healthcare for the Paducah Sun in Paducah, Kentucky.
De los Reyes has a bachelor of arts degree in Leadership & Communications from Ripon College in Wisconsin and a master’s in International Economic Policy, National Security from the University of Kentucky. He more recently earned a master’s in journalism from Northwestern University in Illinois.
De los Reyes came to journalism after a career in finance and tech, including stints as a project analyst at Ingenix Inc. in Eden Prairie, Minn.; associate project manager for the NASA/San Jose State University Research Foundation in Mountain View; venture capital analyst for the Brenner Group Inc. in Cupertino; industry intelligence analyst for LaSalle Bank in Chicago; and commercial real estate analyst for Grubb & Ellis Co. Inc., also in Chicago.
