Midday Stock Roundup

Major indices were down in midday trading on global growth fears.

The S&P 500 was down 1.3% to 2,053.40. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.2% to 17,134.35. The Nasdaq was down 2% to 4,920.90.83.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 1.8% to 2.09%.

The price of gold was up 2.2% to $1,152.

RESTAURANTS

Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. was down 4.4% to $12.73 and a $487 million market cap. The chicken chain had by midday traded nearly double its 90-day average and shares are down by one-third over the last five trading sessions.
