AGRICULTURE
Newport Beach-based American Vanguard Corp. was up 2% to $11.76 and a $343 million market cap. A news report said the chemicals and pesticides maker paid about $500,000 to increase its stake from 60% to 87% in a joint venture with London-based TyraTech Inc. The partnership aims to develop and sell products for agriculture and lawn-care, while TyraTech is shifting its focus to personal care and animal health products as its main line of business.
