Newport Beach-based patent technology licensing company Acacia Research Corp. was down 17% to $13.29 and a market cap of about $665 million on an unfavorable patent ruling.
BANKING
Irvine-based Pacific Premier Bancorp Inc. was up 3.8% to $16.21 and a market cap of about $274 million on positive earnings. The company said net income last year was $16.6 million, up 85% compared with 2013.
