HEALTHCARE
Aliso Viejo-based Avanir Pharmaceuticals Inc. was up 12.9% to $16.93 and a market cap of $3.3 billion. The drug maker agreed to be acquired by Tokyo-based Otsuka Pharmaceutical Co. for about $3.5 billion.
RETAIL
Irvine-based Boot Barn Holdings Inc. was up 2.2% to $21.37 and a market cap of $532.6 million ahead of its first quarterly earnings report as a public company, expected after markets close today. The Western apparel seller went public five weeks ago at $16 a share.
