Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 rose 0.1% to 2,070.87 in midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.11% to 17,836.75 and the Nasdaq rose 0.16% to 4,762.62.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond declined 1.4% to 2.28%.

The price of gold rose 0.1% to $1,196.90.

RETAIL

Foothill Ranch-based Wet Seal Inc. was down 15.8% to 32 cents and a market cap of $27 million on expectations of a poor quarterly earnings report due this week and its announcement yesterday that it named an investment bank and a special advisor to help the apparel retailer evaluate “financial and strategic alternatives.”

RESTAURANTS

Irvine-based Habit Restaurants Inc. was down a second day in a row, by 7.3% to $32 and a market cap of $800 million. Shares are down 25% from its high point following Thursday’s initial public offering. The fast casual burger chain said today it raised $92.4 million after expenses on its offering of 5.75 million shares at $18 each.
