The S&P 500 rose 0.26% to 2,005.87 in midday trading Thursday.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.24% to 17,118.68 and the Nasdaq rose 0.35% to 4,588.62.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond fell 1.7% to 2.45%.
The price of gold was down 0.2% to $1,267.80.
APPAREL
Foothill Ranch-based Wet Seal Inc. was down another 6.7% to $0.70 and a market cap of $59.1 million. Its shares fell 29% yesterday, from $1.05 to $0.75, when the company said it would seek to sell $43.5 million to $48.5 million of stock in a private placement with institutional investors and through a separate planned offering to shareholders.
RESTAURANTS
Costa Mesa-based El Pollo Loco Holdings Inc. was up 3% to $35.40 and a market cap of $1.3 billion in advance of the fast-food chain’s earnings report slated for today after markets close.
