Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was up 0.5% to 4,407.28 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.5% to 35,020.37.

The Nasdaq climbed 0.4% to 14,740.26.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was flat at 1.174%.

The price of gold decreased 0.5% to $1,809.40.

The price for a barrel of oil fell 0.8% to $70.69.

FINANCE

Shares in Foothill Ranch-based mortgage provider loanDepot Inc. (NYSE: LDI) fell 15.2% to $8.98 apiece for a market cap of $2.8 billion. The company earlier today reported second quarter revenue of $779.9 million and an adjusted profit of 18 cents, below the average analyst estimate of $975 million and a 54 cent profit.

TECHNOLOGY

Irvine-based memory products maker Netlist Inc. (OTC: NLST) fell 9.3% to $7.80 apiece for a market cap of $1.7 billion. The company earlier in the day released second-quarter earnings that fell short of analysts’ expectations.
