Midday Stock Roundup

 

The S&P 500 decreased 0.4% to 3,955.39 during midday trading.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.4% to 33,028,18.

The Nasdaq dropped 0.3% to 13,022.59.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.6% to 1.731%

The price of gold fell 1.8% to $1,684.40.

The price for a barrel of oil was down 1.9% to $60.38.

RETAIL

Shares in Western-inspired retailer Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) rose 6.4% to $63.01 apiece for a market cap of $1.8 billion. Analyst site Benzinga.com said Monday that “the retail sector is well situated for a potentially record-setting year as consumers return to some semblance of normalcy.”

TECHNOLOGY 

Ad tech company Viant Technology Inc. (Nasdaq: DSP) in Irvine rose 4.2% to $45.94 per share for a market cap of $2.7 billion. Needham & Co. last week assigned a Buy rating to Viant with a price target of $62.
