Midday Stock Roundup

 

Major stock indexes jumped as tech shares rebounded and the U.S. House of Representatives was set to take up the $1.9 trillion stimulus package.

The S&P 500 was up 2.1% to 3,901.48.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.1% to 32,137.38.

The Nasdaq climbed 3.8% to 13,089.21.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury declined 2.6% to 1.55%.

The price of gold increased 2.1% to $1,713.90.

The price for a barrel of oil dropped 1.6% to $64.01.

TECHNOLOGY

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (Nasdaq: CLNE) in Newport Beach rose 11.9% to $11.98 per share for a market cap of $2.4 billion. The company was scheduled to release fourth-quarter earnings later in the day.

HEALTHCARE

Irvine-based cancer test maker Oncocyte Corp. (NYSE: OCX) rose 18.5% to $4.35 per share for a market cap of $384.6 million. Earlier today the company announced the formation of its Medical Advisory Board to advise the company on the development and clinical advancement of its portfolio of tests.
