Indexes recovered slightly in early trading after two days of declines on coronavirus fears but had begun to drop back a bit by midday.
The S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were flat at 3,127.93 and 27,066.34, respectively. The Nasdaq ticked 0.1% up to 8,970.15.
The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.4% to 1.33%.
The price of gold declined 0.4% to $1,643.
A barrel of oil fell 1.1% to $49.35.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Alteryx Inc. (NYSE: AYX) was 3.8% higher to $137.73 and a $9 billion market cap. Shares in the data analytics software maker recovered ground lost in the last two sessions amid a general market and sector selloff.
Iteris Inc. (Nasdaq: ITI) in Santa Ana rose 4% to $5.05 and a $205 million market cap. The traffic systems and sensors maker said last week the city of Minneapolis is now using its technology.
HEALTHCARE
Contract drugmaker Avid Bioservices Inc. (Nasdaq: CDMO) declined 3.1% to $6.49 and a $366 million market cap. Shares in the Tustin-based company are off about 13% year-to-date.
