Midday Stock Roundup

The S&P 500 was down 0.6% in midday trading to 2,841.87.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average dipped 0.3% to 25,688.38.

The Nasdaq dropped 1.3% to 7,716.26.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond rose 0.7% to 2.41%.

The price of oil climbed 0.6% to $63.11 a barrel.

The price of gold was flat at $1,276.

RETAIL

Boot Barn Holdings Inc. (NYSE: BOOT) in Irvine was up 8.3% to $25.55 and an $813 million market cap. Volume was about 1.5 times the daily average of 850,000 shares. On May 16, the western retailer reported fourth quarter sales and profit that topped the average estimate of analysts.

HEALTHCARE

Two of Orange County’s healthcare firms were among the top movers on Monday.

Evolus Inc. (Nasdaq: EOLS) in Irvine jumped nearly 10% to $17.66 and a $482.6 million market cap. Shares of the company, which makes a rival product to Allergan Plc’s Botox, have climbed nearly 50% since the beginning of the year. It’s the first increase since May 15 when the company announced Alphaeon Corp., its majority owner, plans to sell 4 million shares.

Urovant Sciences Ltd. (Nasdaq: UROV) in Irvine surged 13% to $8.34 and a $252.9 million market cap. Volume of about 119,000 was almost twice the daily average.
