TECHNOLOGY
Smith Micro Software Inc. (Nasdaq: SMSI) was up 8.2% to $2.70 and a $67 million market cap on more than twice its average full-day volume. Aliso Viejo-based Smith Micro makes software for mobile devices.
HEALTHCARE
Pro-Dex Inc. (Nasdaq: PDEX) in Irvine was up 6.7% to $12.48 and a $54 million market cap. It designs, develops and manufactures powered surgical instruments for medical device makers. Shares are up 70% in the three weeks since it reported a 12% year-over-year quarterly increase in sales and a 20% increase in gross profit.
