Midday Stock Roundup

Stock indices declined in midday trading on weakness in the technology sector.

The S&P 500 was down 1% to 2,443.58. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.8% to 21,850.03. The NASDAQ was down 1.3% to 6,260.46.

The yield on a 10-year Treasury bond was down 0.9% to 2.21%.

The price of gold rose 0.8% to $1,293.

FINANCE

Banc of California Inc. (BANC: NYSE) in Irvine was down 3% to $18.85 and a $969 million market cap on moderate volume. The bank holding company was named “bear of the day” by Zack’s earlier this week.

TECHNOLOGY

NetList Inc. (NASDAQ: NLST) in Irvine was down 30% to 60 cents and a $37 million market cap. The memory subsystem maker today sold 8.5 million common shares at 60 cents apiece. It previously had 62 million shares outstanding.

HEALTHCARE

ChromaDex Corp. (NASDAQ: CDXC) in Irvine was up 5% to $3.34 and a $154 million market cap on moderate volume. The company makes nutrition ingredients.
