Nearly 450 members of the Orange County business community attended the 14th annual CFO of the Year Awards ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
The evening event, held at the Irvine Marriott, honored five OC-based chief financial officers who have made marks in a variety of industries and business sectors.
The event was emceed by Solis Capital Partners founder and Managing Director Dan Lubeck. His Newport Beach-based private equity firm typically invests between $5 million and $20 million to acquire at least a 50% stake in companies in the software, business services, niche manufacturing, and other industries.
Highlighting the importance that CFOs have in the running of a successful company, Lubeck noted that when Solis acquires a stake in a company, it always reserves the right to install a CFO of its own choosing in the company it invests in.
The 2021 winners at the event were:
• CFO Public Co.: Adam Townsend, Vizio Inc.
• CFO Private Co.: Brandon Kerns, Landmark Health LLC.
• CFO Not-For-Profit Co.: Tracy Branson, Orange County Community Foundation.
• CFO Rising Star: Floyd Amuchie, corporate controller, Virgin Galactic.
• CFO Lifetime Achievement: Mike Henry, Tilly’s Inc.
