Wahoo’s Bot
Santa Ana-based Wahoo’s Fish Taco has partnered with Lucy Survey in San Francisco to deploy iPad Kiosks at several locations in Orange County that gather customer feedback about their visits to the popular restaurant chain. Lucy is a bot that engages users in a conversational manner, said David Suh who co-founded the company last year with Dogan Berktaş.
The duo met while working at Twitter Inc. They’re also collaborating with Wienerschnitzel—part of Galardi Group Inc. in Irvine—to launch a messaging version of Lucy, whose aim is to increase redemption of the hot dog chain’s marketing offers. Its consumers opt in by texting a keyword—usually to a five-digit number—to get a discount on their next purchase. Wienerschnitzel’s bot-powered campaign will also appear in Facebook’s messenger app and offer deals at its San Diego locations.
Wahoo’s co-founder Wing Lam also serves as an adviser to the Lucy Survey team, and has helped them connect with other local businesses that may be able to implement the bot service.
