Apex Parks Group, an Aliso Viejo-based owner and operator of leisure parks, acquired Sahara Sam’s Oasis Indoor and Outdoor Water Park in New Jersey on undisclosed terms.
Sahara Sam’s, founded in 2009, has a 70,000-square-foot indoor complex with various water-park features and arcade game offerings.
Apex Parks Chief Executive Al Weber said the park’s status as “the only free-standing, year-round, indoor-outdoor water park in the United States” will bring “a new market and a proven management team” to its portfolio of family entertainment centers.
Weber joined Apex Parks when it was formed last September by New York-based private equity firm Broad Sky Partners and Edgewater Funds in Chicago through an acquisition of 14 leisure parks and a water park from Newport Beach-based Palace Entertainment.
