Airport Adds Second Mexico Servicer

The U.S. Department of Transportation approved Seattle-based Alaska Airlines flights between John Wayne Airport and Mexico that are set to start in October.

Approval from the Mexico Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil is pending but expected, the airline said.

A schedule of four daily flights per week between OC and Los Cabos is scheduled to begin Oct. 8 and cover Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. A schedule of three daily flights per week between Orange County and Puerto Vallarta is expected to begin Oct. 9 and run on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The airline’s introductory one-way fares are $138 to Los Cabos and $158 to Puerto Vallarta.

It joins Southwest Airlines in serving Mexico from JWA.
