Standard Pacific Reports Record Orders for New Homes in January, Led by Southland
Irvine-based homebuilder Standard Pacific Corp. said it saw a record number of new home orders in January, led by a near doubling in Southern California.
Standard Pacific said January new home orders increased 24% from the year-ago period to 444, while the number of communities selling Standard Pacific homes went from 93 to 99.
Southern California orders were up 76% to 210, the company’s biggest gain. The number of Southland communities selling Standard Pacific homes went from 23 to 30.
Northern California orders slipped 33% to 39. The number of selling communities in the north held steady at 13.
Texas and Colorado also saw order and selling community drops. Arizona stayed strong with a 27% increase to 137 new orders. The number of Arizona communities with Standard Pacific homes went from 17 to 22.
