South Korea’s Chohung Bank opened a branch in Buena Park that will target the city’s Korean-American community, the company said Friday.
Seoul-based Chohung Bank, a unit of Shinhan Financial Group Co., now has four branches in California.
The latest opening is part of Chohung’s plan to expand into California, New York, New Jersey and other areas that have active Korean-American communities.
CHB America Bank formed in 2003 through a combination of California Chohung Bank and Chohung Bank of New York.
The bank joins other local banks catering to Korean-Americans, including Uniti Bank Corp. in Buena Park.
