Automated Identification Technologies, a wireless car-security technology firm based in Parklands, South Africa, last month signed a three-year lease for 11,404 square feet in Irvine’s Alton Plaza business park. AIT will begin moving into its new space this month.
The company will shift its world headquarters to the space within a year, according to Bryan Ohira of Lee & Associates, who represented AIT in the deal.
AIT designs and markets wireless security technology for automobiles, computers and a variety of other products. AIT recently inked an agreement with BMW and Mercedes to install chips in new automobiles to assist in the tracking and recovery of stolen vehicles.
Alton Plaza consists of 15 buildings with a total rentable building area of more than 410,000 square feet of flex space.
