Buena Park’s Knott’s Berry Farm had its lowest attendance level in the first quarter because of the Southern California’s wet winter, owner Cedar Fair LP said Friday.
Knott’s saw a $2 million revenue shortfall with 100,000 fewer visitors versus a year earlier because of record rainfall, Ohio-based Cedar Fair said.
The company downplayed the poor showing, saying the bulk of its business comes during the summer months.
Knott’s and others in Orange County’s tourism industry are expecting a banner year with heavy marketing by Walt Disney Co. for the 50th anniversary of Disneyland.
Cedar Fair has spent $80 million recently on its parks, including for the addition of the Silver Bullet roller coaster at Knott’s.
