Shares of Aliso Viejo-based Quest Software Inc. climbed about 3% Wednesday after an analyst with Goldman Sachs Group Inc. upgraded the stock.
Quest is benefiting from product upgrades at Microsoft Corp., analyst Sarah Friar said. She raised Quest’s stock rating from “inline” to “outperform.”
Quest makes software that monitors the delivery of data on networks.
“(Quest’s) disproportionate exposure to favorable trends in software such as Microsoft upgrade cycles” bode well, Friar wrote.
She also said the company is positioned to capitalize on any growth from Oracle Corp. and IBM Corp.
