Qualcomm Inc. said Monday a federal court in San Diego is set to issue an injunction against Irvine-based Broadcom Inc., barring the chipmaker from using what it called confidential trade secrets, including source code.
The move is the latest in a legal battle,and war of words,between San Diego’s Qualcomm and Broadcom. The two are fighting over patents related to cell phones and other devices.
The move barring soliciting, using or disseminating Qualcomm’s cell phone technologies and business information will remain in effect at least through completion of a trial set to start a year from now.
Broadcom shares closed up 2.6% Monday, while Qualcomm’s stock was dropped a slight 1%.
