ARCHITECTURE

Thomas P. Cox: Architects Inc. has named Philip J. Terhorst a principal. Terhorst has more than 25 years of experience in mixed-use and multifamily housing projects in California. He will continue his responsibilities managing the firm’s production staff and document quality assurance.

BIOTECH

Irvine-based Agilon Products Group Inc. has named Scott Lassers chief operating officer and board of directors vice president. He will head day-to-day operations and provide expertise in expanding the group’s existing and future product lines. Lassers recently was chief operating officer of DisPac LLC.

BUSINESS SERVICES

Craig I. DeRoy has been named senior executive vice president of Santa Ana-based First American Corp. DeRoy has more than 20 years experience in corporate and environmental risk management. He will retain his duties as general counsel.

ENTERTAINMENT

Tony Roberts has been promoted to assistant general manager from director of operations at The Grove of Anaheim, formerly the Sun Theatre. Roberts had served as operations director since 1999. In 1998, he was hired as operations manager for Tinseltown Studios dinner theater, which preceded the Sun and the Grove at the Anaheim facility.

HEALTHCARE

Joseph S. Konowiecki has been named executive vice president and general counsel for Santa Ana-based PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. Konowiecki has served as independent legal counsel for the group since 1979, while heading the Los Angeles-based law firm Konowiecki & Rank. He will be responsible for legal and corporate affairs and regulatory compliance.

INSURANCE

Newport Beach-based Pacific Life Insurance Co. named James T. Morris executive vice president of its life insurance division. Morris joined the group in 1982 as an actuarial assistant and was appointed senior vice president of product design in 1993 and assumed responsibility for life insurance marketing operations in 2000.

MUSEUMS

The Children’s Museum of Orange County Inc., Irvine, has hired two directors for its Pretend City exhibit. Elizabeth Mitsunaga has been named director of exhibits. She will be direct and coordinate the architectural design, exhibit design, fabrication and the construction of Pretend City. DeVerges Jones has been hired as director of marketing. Jones will be responsible for marketing communications, research and strategic planning.

TECHNOLOGY

The Children’s Hospital of Orange County hired Nicole Borchard to serve as the hospital’s Web producer. Borchard will develop and enhance the hospital’s Web site and electronic business strategies. She previously was the Internet manager for Tustin-based Airshow Inc.
