ADVERTISING

Nichole Irby joined the Irvine office of S3 as assistant account executive. Irby will work with S3’s West Coast clients, including automaker Aston Martin. Prior to joining S3, Irby was the associate marketing manager for Irvine-based Entrepreneur Media Inc.

CONSULTING

Hitachi Consulting, the technology consulting unit of Japan’s Hitachi Ltd., appointed Edward Lo and Jeff Paradowski to vice presidents of technology solutions. They will work in the Costa Mesa office.

EDUCATION

Albert F. Yee was named director of the University of California, Irvine operation of the California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology. He also will hold a faculty position in the Department of Chem-ical Engineering and Materials Science in UCI’s Henry Samueli School of Engineering. Yee comes to UCI from the University of Michigan, where he was a professor in the departments of materials science and engineering, macromolecular science and engineering and chemical engineering.

FINANCE

Robert L. Panetti was appointed senior portfolio manager for Newport Beach-based Capital Reserve Ad-visors Inc. Panetti was previously a research analyst for the investment management company, where he has worked since 1991.

Rancho Santa Margarita-based South County Bank promoted Debbie Santoro to senior vice president and director of marketing and business development. Santoro joined South County Bank in 2001 as assistant vice president and branch manager.

FOOD

Provo, Utah-based Tahitian Noni Inter-national, a health supplement company, ap-pointed Dan Hillstrom as assistant sales manager for business development and special projects for Tahitian Noni International’s Costa Mesa office.

HEALTHCARE

Newport Beach-based Health Care Property Investors Inc. added Paul Gallagher as executive vice president, portfolio strategy. He was formerly the managing director of General Electric Co.’s commercial finance real estate unit.

MARKETING

Mission Viejo-based MarkeTeam Inc. named Michelle Mora-Lopez premier account manager. Lopez previously worked as the director of specialty concepts at Patrick Henry Creative Promotions in Houston. MarkeTeam also tapped Nick Martello as graphic designer.

Irvine-based BDS Marketing Inc. hired Mark D. Karnes as director of client strategy. Karnes comes to BDS from Motorola Inc., where he served as director of retail marketing.

RiechesBaird Advertising in Irvine appointed Bill Thompson to lead a new company unit, RiechesBaird Direct. Prior to joining RiechesBaird, Thompson led demand generation and sales process strategy consulting for Xerox Corp. Meanwhile, Julie Stockton was named senior brand manager. Prior to joining RiechesBard, Stockton worked as an account executive at BLVDwest in Newport Beach.

NONPROFIT

The Sawdust Art Festival in Laguna Beach named its board members for 2003-2004: Martin Roberts, president; Tracey Moscaritolo, vice president; Larry Gill, secretary; Mike Kelly treasurer; and Debra Covern, Eleanor Henry, Helen McNamara, Marsh Scott and Drew Weir. All members are Laguna Beach residents and exhibitors at the festival.

Roy A. Kellerman joined The Bell Tower Foundation, an organization that is raising funds for a community center in Rancho Santa Margarita. Kellerman previously worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Spokane County in Washington.

The KOCE-TV Foundation’s board named Clarence “C.B.” Brown as a member. Brown is the vice president of corporate communications at Southern California Edison Co. Brown also is a board member of the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House.

The California Avocado Commission, based in Irvine, promoted Jan DeLyster to vice president, marketing. She has been with the commission for more than five years. She previously served as chief executive of the Fresh Produce and Floral Council for 14 years.

REAL ESTATE

Irvine-based Keystone Pacific Property Management Inc. named Daphne Le new development project coordinator for the Irvine office. Jay Johnson was named associate community association manager for the company’s Ranch Santa Margarita office.

Resource Commercial Real Estate in Irvine added Ron Palermino as associate broker. He will be assisting corporate accounts throughout the Orange County and Los Angeles area. Palermino previously worked for a General Motors restoration and aftermarket parts catalog company in Huntington Beach. He also has developed and managed three small businesses as the primary setup and market advisor.
