Sarah Chilberg joined Bowers Museum in Santa Ana as an early childhood educator. Chilberg will maintain the newly renovated Kidseum facilities and develop programs with a focus on children and their parents. Before Bowers, she taught preschool at the Hebrew Academy of Huntington Beach.
Angels for the Arts at Saddleback College named Carole Zelinger president of its board. Irene Hutton was named vice president and Al Rajput became treasurer. Others named to the board were Lauren Baba, Jim Harris, Mike Johnson, Ken Realista and Michael Valentine. The Angels is a fund-raising and support group for the performing and visual arts at Saddleback College.

Culbertson, Adams & Associates Inc. promoted senior vice president Shawna L. Schaffner to chief executive and co-owner. Schaffner has experience in urban planning, project management and environmental impact documentation in private and public sectors.
FINANCE
Johnson Capital Group in Irvine hired Cliff B. Carnes as senior vice president of operations. Before Johnson Capital, Carnes was a Navy Reserve officer serving in Iraq.
Newport Beach-based Morris Business Development Co. promoted George Morris to president. Morris has more than 20 years of experience in investment banking. He taught full time at USC for two years, part time in the UCLA Extension program and is a professor emeritus from the California State University system.
INSURANCE
Newport Beach-based Pacific Life Insurance Co. promoted Mark W. Holmlund to executive vice president and chief investment officer. Martha Gates became senior vice president of operations. Gail Cobin Moscoso and Scott E. Johnson were named vice presidents. Others promoted to assistant vice president: Gordon Delianedis, Hany Gobreial, Frank J. Goetz, Kenneth E. Jack, Hyung T. Kim, Matthew Levene, Jose T. Miscolta, Douglas L. Robbins, Jill Thomas, Naomi D. Wheeler and Andrew J. Zembles.
MANUFACTURING
Foothill Ranch-based Kaiser Aluminum Corp. appointed Lynton Roswell chief accounting officer. Roswell will assume external reporting responsibilities. Roswell joined the company last year as director of external reporting. Prior to that position, he was assistant corporate controller for GeoLogistics Corp.
MEDIA
Rebecca Allen and Glenn Hall were promoted to deputy editors by Freedom Communications Inc., publisher of the Orange County Register and OCRegister.com. Most recently, Allen served as the Register’s Morning Read editor. Hall recently served as senior team leader and business editor for the Register’s Marketplace section. Brian Bergen was hired as product marketing director. He will oversee all online products, services and special sections.
NONPROFIT
Paul Prichard was named chairman of the Women’s Transitional Living Center in Orange. Prichard has served in several positions on the board and is a banker at Pacific Western Bank in Anaheim. New to the board are Nicole Vanderlaan Smith, Ana Nogales and Cynthia Westhafer Mascio.
Anne Morris joined Habitat for Humanity of Orange County as director of corporate relations. Since retiring from nursing, Morris was manager of the Annual Fund at South Coast Medical Center in Laguna Beach and chief executive of the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce.
REAL ESTATE
Katrien Van Rooyen joined Irvine-based R.D. Olson Development as corporate controller. She was a finance director for Turner Construction Co. and held positions at Halliburton, Brown & Root and Coopers & Lybrand.
Don Carroll joined SunCal Cos. in Irvine. As a principal, he is responsible for acquisition and development activities in the eastern U.S.
Irvine-based La Jolla Pacific Ltd. promoted Cassie Cherry and Steven Denny. Cherry, once marketing manager, now is director of marketing and media relations. Denny moved up to director of pre-construction services from project manager.
TECHNOLOGY
Kamal Arafeh was promoted to chief executive of eEye Digital Security in Aliso Viejo. He previously was the company’s senior vice president of worldwide sales & marketing. Arafeh was general manager of Roxio and was vice president of sales and marketing of the Americas and Asia Pacific for security vendor Astaro.
Irvine-based Sendio Inc. hired Tim Lee-Thorp as vice president of marketing and Kevin Bowyer as senior vice president of sales. Bowyer was recently president and chief executive of Cogent Global Services. Lee-Thorp has more than 25 of years experience in marketing, product management and business development.
