MANUFACTURER

Meade Instruments Corp. in Irvine named Vern Fotheringham to its board. Fotheringham is co-founder and vice chairman of Vectrad Networks and is on the board of TeraBeam Corp.

The Larson Group, Irvine, hired Jennifer Carey as director of new business development and account manager. Carey has 10 years of advertising and marketing experience at Foote, Cone & Belding and Hershey Communications.


NONPROFIT

Scott E. Summers was elected president of the Pipe Line Contractors Association. Summers is senior vice president of ARB Inc. in Lake Forest.


PUBLIC RELATIONS

RiechesBaird, Irvine, hired Chris Palmer as account executive. Palmer will manage the Survivair, Destination Irvine and CrossCreek Golf Club accounts.


REAL ESTATE

Kevin Bellamy was hired as account executive for Seabreeze Management Co., Aliso Viejo. Bellamy oversees five community associations in Mission Viejo, Costa Mesa, Laguna Nigel, Buena Park and Huntington Beach.


RESTAURANTS

Marie Callender’s Pie Shops Inc., Orange, promoted Debbie Woltkamp-Gomez to area supervisor for several Southern California locations. The company also hired Mike Jones as regional vice president. Jones started his career in 1966 as a dishwasher.


RETAIL

Dermaculture, Newport Beach, hired Alex Kakavas as director of sales and marketing.


TECHNOLOGY

Newport Corp., Irvine, appointed Jeffrey B. Coyne vice president and corporate general counsel. Coyne previously was a partner at Stradling Yocca Carlson & Rauth.

Michael Krasowski was named to the Advisory Board for the University of California, Irvine’s Extension .NET Certificate program in the engineering and information technologies department.
