Premier Laser Systems Inc., Irvine, named Christopher A. Headle senior vice president of sales and marketing. Headle is a 16-year veteran of B. Braun McGaw, where he was most recently vice president of hospital sales for B. Braun Medical.
Michael D. Chermak was appointed to Physiciansite.com’s board of directors. He is the co-founder and original chairman of Medibuy.com, a San Diego-based e-commerce venture for medical supply procurement, and Physiciansite’s medical supplies and equipment partner. Physiciansite, Newport Beach, is an Internet-based physician portal site focusing on integrating administrative, financial and clinical matters.
The Institute for Healthcare Advancement appointed Therese Carder, executive vice president of McKenna & Associates, Newport Beach, to the board of directors. IHA is a Whittier-based non-profit organization that provides various educational and community healthcare services.
INSURANCE
Pacific Life Insurance Co., Newport Beach, promoted Dewey P. Bushaw to senior vice president. Bushaw will handle sales in the annuities division. In addition, the company named four vice presidents: Joseph E. Celentano, institutional division; Adrian S. Griggs, annuities division finance; Carol R. Sudbeck, annuities division operations; and Nancy A. Webb, life insurance division finance and field services.
LAW
John F. Bazan, Adrienne C. Hutchings, and Nathan Owens joined the law firm of Kring & Brown LLP, Irvine. Bazan most recently practiced law with Mendes & Mount LLP. Hutchings was previously with the Settlement Law Group, and Owens was with Nemecek & Cole.
Colin C. Holley joined Preston Gates & Ellis LLP, Irvine, where he will handle intellectual property litigation and labor law. He previously worked as an intern for the California Court of Appeal for the Second Appellate District.
Faustman, Carlton, DiSante & Freudenberger LLP, Irvine, elected Christopher M. Robertson to the partnership. In addition, Todd R. Wulffson joined the firm as a partner; Jennifer White-Sperling and Andrea Selvidge joined the firm as associates.
Tim Epp joined Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton’s Orange County office as special counsel for the intellectual property department. Epp was previously general counsel for Taylor Made-Adidas Golf Co.
Riordan & McKinzie, Costa Mesa, named Jeannie Su an associate of the firm. She was previously assistant attorney general, telecommunications and energy division in St. Paul, Minn.
William C. Cray was named a partner of Levin & Hawes LLP, Laguna Beach. He will practice in the areas of patent prosecution, licensing, and intellectual property law. In addition, Donald L. Abrams joined the firm as of counsel. He will focus on intellectual property litigation.
MANUFACTURING
Don Small was appointed COO of Automatic Identification Technologies Ltd., Irvine. The company develops and markets RFID-based products for corporate resource management applications. Small was previously with Hughes Identification Devices where he developed sales and global marketing programs.
Fountain Valley-based JMG Security Systems promoted Gil Ledesma from senior sales agent to sales manager. Ledesma, who joined JMG in 1996, will be responsible for the five-man sales force that designs and markets commercial and residential security systems in Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and Los Angeles counties.

Elsy Liu joined Lages & Associates, Irvine, a public relations and marketing communications firm, as account coordinator. She most recently worked as a graduate assistant to a psychology professor at Chapman University.
M2 Marketing and Management Services, Santa Ana, appointed Kevin Veal senior account executive. He was formerly associate producer and client service representative for Script to Screen Inc.

Philip E. Strok, associate attorney for the Costa Mesa-based law firm Albert, Weiland & Golden LLP, was elected to the board of the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum, an organization comprised of bankruptcy law professionals and judges that provides service and education for its members.
The Orange County Natural History Association’s board of directors elected Daryl Walezak executive director of museum operations. The association manages the Museum of Natural History in Laguna Niguel.
Alan J. Perry joined the board of directors of the Irvine Harvest Festival Foundation. His responsibilities as the school liaison include promoting the festival through the educational system and expanding the involvement of schools in the annual event.

John Brown joined ColorGraphics, an Irvine-based commercial printer, as a sales representative. He will focus on business in San Diego and South Orange County.
