David L. George was elected president of the Orange County/Long Beach chapter of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. George, who has more than 25 years of professional experience in accounting, has been a member of the organization since 1985.
Banking and Finance
Ray Dicius was named investment executive for the foundation services group at Sutro & Co. He was formerly a financial consultant with Merrill Lynch.
The national builder division of Countrywide Home Loans Inc. named Sandra Marrero senior vice president of national builder operations. Marrero has been with Countrywide for 16 years and has experience in loan underwriting.
Jeni Ball was promoted to vice president and bank operations manager at Sunwest Bank. Ball joined Sunwest in 1979 and most recently was assistant vice president at the bank’s airport/Newport Beach branch. In addition, Mike Stafford joined Sunwest as assistant vice president and branch sales manager at the Tustin branch. Stafford’s 25 years of financial experience includes stints with Sanwa Bank of California and Eagle Community Credit Union.
Venture capital firm Versant Ventures hired Michael Partsch as an associate in its Newport Beach office. Partsch is experienced in biotechnology and will support the firm’s pursuit of investments in the healthcare field.
Construction
Rick Crouser was hired by Andrew L. Youngquist Construction as senior estimator, residential division, in the company’s Costa Mesa office. Formerly a senior estimator and project manager for Saylor Consulting Group, Crouser will be responsible for plan reviews and estimating project costs.
GKK Works, Irvine, named Robert Conner project manager. Conner has 30 years of experience in the construction and renovation of schools, hospitals and airport facilities.

Janet Cooper Jackson was appointed chairwoman of the organizational leadership program at Chapman University. Jackson was previously an assistant professor with the program.
Fullerton-based Child Guidance Center Inc. installed its officers for 2000-2001: Roger Kliminski of Global Investment Solutions, president; Brian Callahan of Markwood Capital Alliance, first vice president; Jim Ethell, of Pivot Point Southwest, second vice president for finance; Stephanie Springel, third vice president for membership; Joe Romano of Corporate Management Resources, fourth vice president for policy and planning; and Jim Cambell of Cloudwalker Enterprises, secretary.

Ernie M. Ellsworth was named to the board of directors of Saddleback Memorial Foundation, the fundraising arm of Saddleback Memorial Medical Center.

LeadersOnline, Irvine, named Ethan Winner chief marketing officer. Winner was previously with Futurestep, the Internet-based recruiting subsidiary of Korn/Ferry International. LeadersOnline is a subsidiary of Heidrick & Struggles.

Kenneth W. Babcock was named executive director of the Public Law Center of Orange County. Babcock previously worked as director of litigation and advocacy at the Public Counsel Law Center in Los Angeles.
Manuel J. Barba joined Violet P. Woodhouse, where he will oversee discovery and trial preparation. Barba has area expertise in real estate, trust administration and family law.
Manufacturing
Sonance, San Clemente, named Robert Bradford regional sales manager. Bradford has experience in creating sales strategies and field sales teams.

Newport Beach-based TPI, a medical specialty firm, hired Dayna Lach as account coordinator.
Real Estate
Michelle Burge was promoted to vice president of finance for Professional Community Management Inc., Lake Forest. Burge has more than 16 of experience in the financial industry and was the company’s vice president and controller for four years.
Standard Pacific Corp., Costa Mesa, hired Ralph Spargo as general manager for Standard Pacific Active Adult Communities Inc., a new subsidiary of the company. Spargo also is working on the company’s Talega Gallery, Standard Pacific’s first active adult neighborhood, in San Clemente.
Nexus Construction Services named David Beegle senior project manager. Beegle formerly worked for Paul Matt Construction. Nexus also named Doug Burroughs general superintendent and Matthew Kaufman vice president of development and operations. Burroughs will specialize in high-end tenant improvements; Kaufman was previously with TNR Development Corp.
Technology
Lee Han was named private banking manager for ITT Industries. Han’s responsibilities include facilitating all joint manufacturing agreements and identifying suppliers.
Dane-Elec Corp. Irvine, named Scott Malek chief financial officer. Malek was previously vice president of Morgan and Sampson Inc.
