The Orange County Bar Association elected Richard Crites as chair of the products liability section and Martin Florman as chair of the business section. Crites is a senior associate at Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold LLP. Florman is a principal at Berger Kahn.

Peterson Brothers Construction Cos. in Brea named Peter McNabb president and chief executive. McNabb joined the company in 1988 as a senior estimator.

DL Engineering & Controls Inc. added to its Irvine office John Hopson as programming senior project manager and John Koppa as a programming project manager. Hopson has more than 15 years of experience. Koppa has more than 25 years of experience.

Raymond Hecker was promoted to vice president and general manager at Tustin-based Franek Technologies Inc., which provides power supply systems to medical laboratories. Hecker joined the company in 2001 as vice president of business development.

UnionBanc Insurance Services, part of Union Bank of California, hired Ted Ikuta as senior vice president at the Fullerton office. Ikuta previously was the head of West Coast operations at EVP Aioi Insurance Co. of America, part of Aioi Insurance Co.

Fisher & Phillips LLP named three partners at its Irvine office: Christopher Boman, Talar Herculian and Jeffrey Thurrell.

Tricia Etienne joined Freedom Communications Inc.’s Freedom Orange County Information unit in Santa Ana as director of online advertising. Etienne previously was director of sales and business development of YourHub.com at the Denver Newspaper Agency. Freedom Orange County Information publishes the Orange County Register.
NONPROFIT
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County appointed Trey Jarvis as marketing coordinator. Jarvis joined the nonprofit six years ago, doing recruitment and marketing.
Jamboree Housing Corp. in Irvine added John Okura as senior project manager. Prior to joining, Okura served as senior project manager at Linc Housing Services in Long Beach.
The Urban Land Institute, an education and research nonprofit, named three executive committee members to its Orange County District Council: Sheri Vander Dussen, planning director at the city of Anaheim; Bill Flaherty, senior vice president at Maguire Properties Inc.; and Christine Iger, president of Iger & Associates.

LC Development, a land processing company based in San Juan Capistrano, promoted Jim Lunnen to project manager. Lunnen formerly was head of land acquisition and has been with the company for a year and a half.
Aliso Viejo-based Shea Properties, part of Walnut-based J.F. Shea Co., hired Steve Center as senior vice president of leasing. Prior to joining, Center was regional vice president of leasing in San Diego for The Irvine Company’s office division.
Irvine-based SVN Equities LLC, part of Sperry Van Ness, added Carl Valente as vice president of acquisitions. Prior to joining, Valente owned and operated Valente Properties in Oceanside.
Jack Wood rejoined Santa Ana-based Triple Net Properties LLC as vice president of sales and marketing. Wood previously was vice president of sales and marketing at Cole Cos.
Veros Real Estate Solutions in Santa Ana named Sue Potteiger as vice president of business development. Prior to joining, Potteiger was president and chief executive of American Reporting Co.

Irvine-based Axiom Microdevices Inc., a maker of chips for wireless phones, hired Bill Sweeney as vice president of sales. Prior to joining, Sweeney was executive vice president at Remec Inc.
Paetec Communications Inc., which provides Internet calling services, added Wendy Micheil as major account executive and Tina Krause as account manager at the company’s Irvine office. Micheil has 14 years of experience in sales. Krause has two years of experience in telecommunications.

The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau named four people to its board: Steve Arnold of Crowne Plaza Anaheim Resort, James Bermingham of Montage Resort and Spa, Werner Escher of South Coast Plaza and Bill Gunderson of Anaheim Marriott.
