Jason Raefski joined Sunwest Bank in Tustin as executive vice president and chief financial officer. He has more than 15 years of experience in financial services. He recently was senior vice president and director of finance for Vineyard Bank in Irvine.
ENGINEERING
Fuscoe Engineering Inc. added Jeffrey Davis as senior engineering manager in the Irvine office. Davis has 30 years of experience in engineering design with public and private projects. He specializes in masterplanned communities, including site and development opportunity analysis.
FINANCE
The Orange County Venture Group named Marc Averitt to its board. Averitt is cofounder and managing director of Okapi Venture Capital in Laguna Beach. The OC Venture Group is a venture capital networking organization dedicated to the growth of venture capital funding in OC.
GOVERNMENT
Deborah Neev of Laguna Beach was reappointed to the Santa Ana Regional Water Quality Control Board. She has been on the board since 2005. From 1997 to 2004, she was a senior vice president for the environmental consulting firm Earth Tech. Neev is a former member of the Southern California Pipeline Safety Advisory Board.
LAW
Michael Treska became a partner at Latham & Watkins LLP in its Costa Mesa office. Treska specializes in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and general company representation. Jerry A. King joined as a senior environment, land and resources specialist. He has experience in water resources and quality, planning coordination and land use analysis.
MANUFACTURING
Parker Hannifin Corp.’s Parker Aerospace named Bill Schmiege group vice president of integrity in Irvine. Schmiege joined the company more than 20 years ago and held leadership positions in engineering and quality at Parker’s hydraulic systems division. Ed Feick was named vice president of customer support for Parker Aerospace in Irvine. He began working with Parker in 1989 and held leadership positions in finance and project development.
PUBLIC RELATIONS
HKA Inc. in Tustin hired Heather Tien as a senior public relations specialist and Martha Ware as public relations coordinator. Christina Shemo was promoted to PR specialist. Tien spent three years with another PR firm in OC and worked at the Group Health Cooperative in Seattle. Ware was previously director of copywriting for SEO Inc. in Carlsbad. Shemo has been with HKA for the past 18 months.
REAL ESTATE
Pacific West Management named Kimberli Guzman vice president of compliance/ regional manager. She will manage the company’s affordable housing operations on the West Coast. Most recently, Guzman was director of property management operations for Steadfast Management Co. in Newport Beach.
Stephen Mensinger joined Irvine’s SunCal Cos. as president of its newly formed multifamily division. Mensinger worked 20 years for Costa Mesa’s Arnel & Affiliates, a real estate investor and developer started by George Argyros.
Scala Real Estate Partners LP named Dennis E. Eckart a senior adviser. From 1980 until 1993 Eckart served as a U.S. Congressman. He serves on numerous community and corporate boards. Scala Real Estate is a real estate investment and development company based in Irvine.
RESTAURANTS/CATERING
Travis Miller was named general manager of Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill at South Coast Plaza. Miller most recently held various management capacities at Z’Tejas’ Arizona restaurants. Before joining Z’Tejas in 2004, Miller worked at P.F. Chang’s China Bistro for seven years and at Ruby Tuesday.
New York Food Co. promoted Michael Limas to general sales manager of its Orange County operation, and Carla Cockriel to director of operations for OC. Limas will expand the company’s high-end and corporate catering markets. Cockriel will lead growth of the Chefs with Attitude division, New York Food’s private and charter jet catering division.
TECHNOLOGY
Blytheco LLC added Doug Walker as a senior software consultant. Walker has 25 years of experience in accounting software consulting. Walker owned his own consulting company, JB Systems Inc., for 13 years.
Technologent in Lake Forest named Kevin C. Cummins senior vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Technologent, Cummins was a regional executive for Sun Microsystems Inc. In his new position, he will manage all aspects of sales and marketing.
Dave Fluegeman joined Eon Reality Inc. as chief operating officer. Before joining Eon Reality, he led Christie Digital Systems Visual Environments. He also held senior management positions at Evan & Sutherland and has worked for Megahertz, Proxima Corp. and US Robotics.
