ACCOUNTING

David Krickl and Pearl Van Denburg joined accounting firm White, Nelson & Co. of Anaheim. Krickl joined as a tax partner and Van Denburg as a tax manager. Both previously worked in the tax department at Corbin & Wertz of Irvine.

ARCHITECTURE

Daniel P. Gehman was promoted to associate architect at Thomas P. Cox: Architects Inc. of Irvine. Gehman will conceive and create designs on a range of high-density, multifamily and urban infill projects. He has been with the staff for two years and served as a senior designer. He will continue to oversee and mentor a production staff.

EDUCATION

Jorge E. Ancona, associate executive director of the University of California, Los Angeles Alumni Association has been named assistant vice chancellor, alumni relations and executive director of the University of California, Irvine Alumni Association. At UCLA, he oversees business management and strategic planning for the alumni association including board development, volunteer relations, organizational management, human resources and finance. He plans to serve in posts at both schools.

GOVERNMENT

Barry M. Gold, owner of Barry M. Gold & Co. of Irvine, was been appointed to the Regulatory Fairness Board of the Small Business Administration. He will serve as a conduit for small businesses to air grievances to the SBA and other agencies in Washington, D.C.

MANUFACTURING

Heather Robinson was promoted to vice president of finance at Emerson Electric Co.’s Rosemount Analytic liquid division in Irvine. The division designs and makes analyzers, transmitters and sensors for online measurement of conductivity and turbidity of various products.

NONPROFIT

Ardelle St. George, partner in law firm St. George & Carnegie, was appointed chairman of the development committee of the Foundation of KOCE. The committee will provide benefits and underwriting opportunities to the corporate business community and major contributors to the KOCE Foundation.

Children’s Hospital of Orange County appointed Steve Forry director of major gifts for the CHOC Foundation for Children. He will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting and providing ongoing stewardship for CHOC donors.

REAL ESTATE

Mary Glass-Schannault was appointed Homestar Mortgage Service’s senior vice president of national sales. She will work out of Homestar’s new regional office in Foothill Ranch. She previously served as executive vice president of Alliance Bancorp. Homestar’s new branch is designed for borrowers with minor credit problems but not at a poor credit level.

Annie Choie joined commercial real estate firm Charles Dunn Co. as a sales associate for the Orange County office. Fluent in Korean and English, she will be responsible for Korean investments throughout Southern California.

Passco Real Estate Enterprises Inc. of Santa Ana promoted Alan C. Clifton director of asset management. In his new role, Clifton will oversee management for all Passco’s retail holdings in Southern California. He will supervise property management and leasing professionals.

RESTAURANT

Fred LeFranc was named president of Ruby’s Diner. He joined the company as executive vice president and chief executive in 2001. LeFranc will work to expand the franchise and enhance operations while guiding the overall image of the Ruby’s.

SPORTS

Bill Chapin, director of ticket sales for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, was elected to the ticket advisory committee for the National Hockey League. Chapin was elected by his peers to one of five slots on the NHL committee, which deals with ticket database ownership, marketing initiatives and other ticket sales issues. The Ducks also named Michael Williams director of marketing. He was sport client account supervisor at J. Walter Thompson Co. for the past three years in the Boston area.

TOURISM

Kathleen Mozena has joined the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau as convention sales director. Mozena previously worked in sales for the San Francisco Convention & Visitor Bureau. Also, Gina McQuade was named manager of tourism development. She previously worked at the Anaheim Marriott where she was a quality management coordinator and senior international sales manager.

Susan Kay Firth joined the Costa Mesa Conference & Visitor Bureau as sales manager. She previously worked at the Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach and was responsible for local corporate and association group business.
