ARCHITECTURE
San Clemente landscape architecture firm The Collaborative West named Mark Garrity as senior project manager.
CONSTRUCTION
Allison Atkins, Rich-ard Chapple and Rick Fox joined the Irvine office of San Diego-based Roel Constr-uction Co. Atkins was named project coordinator. Chapple and Fox joined as superintendents.
ENTERTAINMENT
Jeff True was named president and general manager of Los Ala-mitos Race Course. An employee at the horse racing track since 1997, True also will continue marketing work in his new position.
LAW
Freeman Freeman & Smiley named two partners at its Irvine office: Jill MacGregor Draffin and Jay T. Thompson. Draffin will head the real estate practice group. Thompson will head the business and transaction practice group.
Steven Comer and Corey Salsberg joined the intellectual property practice group at the Orange County office of Morrison & Foerster.
Ryan P. Ruggerello joined the Irvine office of Snell & Wilmer. Ruggerello will be part of the product liability litigation team.
MARKETING
Irvine-based Open Minds Agency promoted William Moore to senior media associate. Stefani Tewes was promoted to graphic designer.
NONPROFIT
The Orange County arm of the American Cancer Society appointed Jay McCullough vice president. McCullough previously worked for TRUST, a nonprofit alliance of the American Lung Association of Texas, as well as the American Cancer Society-Texas division, the American Heart Association-Texas Affiliate and the Texas PTA.
Orange County Community Housing Corp. appointed Harry Sidhu to its board. Sidhu has held engineering positions at Rockwell International, Hughes Aircraft, General Dynamics and Kaiser Aluminum. Orange County Community Housing’s goal is to help large families find affordable housing.
Goodwill of Orange County selected Janice Markley as event chair of the Walter Knott Service Award Luncheon 2003. The event raises money for adults and children with disabilities.
PRINTING
OCB Reprographics promoted Bruce Caldwell to manager of the plain-paper copies department at the company’s headquarters in Irvine. Caldwell was assistant manager for OCB’s PlanWell online construction document management service. OCB also hired Glenn Cachianes to work with PlanWell clients, which include engineering, architecture and construction companies.
REAL ESTATE
The Merit Cos. named Karen L. Inman vice president of information systems for Community Technologies Inc., a division providing technology services and Web site design to homeowners associations.
TECHNOLOGY
Irvine-based Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Inc appointed Masato Sakui vice president of the imaging products division. Sakui was at Mitsubishi’s Kyoto facility for 20 years.
