Steven Beazley was named chief executive of the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa. Steve was promoted from senior vice president and has worked at the fair since he was 12 years old.
BANKING
Balaji Krishna was named deposit relationship team leader at the Costa Mesa office of Irwin Union Bank, part of Columbus, Ind.-based Irwin Financial Corp.
Matt Kuhn joined the Irvine office of 1st Enterprise Bank Inc. as vice president and relationship manager.
CONSULTING
Mike Stockstill was named to the Humboldt State University Advancement Foundation. Stockstill is president of Irvine-based Stockstill Communications, a public affairs consulting company.
Jessica Word was promoted to vice president of operations at Word & Brown General Agency, a division of Orange-based Word & Brown Insurance Administrators Inc. Word will manage small-and mid-sized group underwriting units. She most recently was vice president of broker services.
LAW
Mark Minyard was named to the Elkins Family Law Task Force by the California Judicial Counsel. Minyard is a partner at Minyard Morris LLP in Newport Beach. The task force will make recommendations to improve efficiency and fairness in family court.
MUSIC
John Shalhoup was named director of national sales in the Pro Audio and Combo Division of Buena Park-based Yamaha Corp. of America, part of Japan’s Yamaha Corp. Shalhoup replaced Bob Heller, who was named national sales director at the com-pany’s piano division.
NONPROFIT
Ashley Sattar joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Orange County as director of corporate partnerships. She primarily will work with corporations to raise awareness about the nonprofit and recruit mentors.
REAL ESTATE
Martin Pupil was promoted to senior managing director of greater Los Angeles operations at Colliers International Property Consultants Inc. Pupil previously was senior managing director of the Orange County, Inland Empire and high desert regions. He will work out of the Irvine office.
Paul Bitonti and John L. Nguyen were named vice presidents of investments at Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services Inc. Bitonti joined the brokerage in 2002 and specializes in retail investment sales. Nguyen specializes in apartment investment sales.
Benjamin Benumof joined Tresor Properties in Laguna Beach as chief legal counsel. Benumof previously was a senior litigator in the Costa Mesa office of Manatt Phelps & Phillips LLP. He has a doctorate in engineering geology and specializes in land use, environmental, construction and real estate law.
Dominic Petrucci was named chief financial officer at Buchanan Street Partners in Newport Beach. Petrucci recently was chief operating officer at Cornerstone Real Estate Funds in Irvine.
RETAIL
Kristin Chessman joined Huntington Beach-based Beauty Encounter Inc., formerly Perfume Bay Inc., as Web content producer. The company is working on a brand and Web site launch. Chessman recently wrote weekly feature stories and maintained the daily business blog as a staff writer at Irvine-based Entrepreneur Media Inc.
TOURISM
The Anaheim/Orange County Visitor & Convention Bureau promoted Deidre Rieck to convention services manager, registration services. Rieck was hired in 2003 as a convention sales assistant. She also is the managing director for the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International’s Orange County chapter.
